To preserve and improve the existing facilities, the Shire of Boyup Brook entrusted Wilgee Civil with the task of upgrading their local place of remembrance. The goal was to enhance both the infrastructure and the overall accessibility of the cemetery while ensuring it remains a peaceful and functional space for the community.

Preventing wear & tear
In an effort to prevent the natural wear and tear of the cemetery’s infrastructure, Wilgee Civil installed eight new headwalls and liners to significantly improve water drainage throughout the area. These additions, along with newly installed drains, ensure the cemetery stays properly drained during the rainy season, preventing issues such as water pooling or erosion.
Facilitating access
To make visiting the Boyup Brook Cemetery easier, the team created a new gravel car park, installing kerbing to define the parking area and filling it with high-quality gravel for durability and long-lasting use. This parking upgrade was designed not only for convenience but also to complement the cemetery’s environment.
Enhancing pathways
In line with the broader goal of enhancing the grounds, Wilgee Civil also upgraded the cemetery’s pathways. This involved constructing rock-pitched basins and headwalls to further improve water drainage and safeguard the soil from erosion. These measures protect the integrity of the land, ensuring that the cemetery remains well-maintained for years to come.
Meeting the highest standards with advanced machinery
To complete the project on time and within budget, Wilgee Civil utilised a fleet of advanced machinery, including a small tracked loader (259D3 Posi), diggers (301.8T and 306T), a loader (924k), and a 14-ton tipper truck (Fuso). This state-of-the-art equipment enabled the team to meet the client’s specifications efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
With the support of additional tools like a water cart, trailers, and service vehicles, the project was executed smoothly, reinforcing Wilgee Civil’s reputation for delivering quality infrastructure solutions. This successful upgrade ensures that Boyup Brook Cemetery remains a well-cared-for space, where the community can continue to honour their loved ones.
