Founded under the visionary leadership of Jessica Franklin, an Aboriginal descent woman, Wilgee Civil represents a groundbreaking endeavour that seamlessly merges industry progress with Indigenous heritage.
Our mission is deeply rooted in the dual commitment to honouring tradition while embracing innovation, with a steadfast dedication to advancing communities and spearheading sustainable solutions within the civil construction and mining sector. Far beyond the conventional role of a service provider, Wilgee Civil is a dynamic force for community empowerment and growth. Our ethos of community enhancement is woven into the very fabric of our operations, serving as a driving force for positive change in every project we undertake.
This ethos, our mission and our values permeate every aspect of Wilgee Civil’s identity which embodies our genuine commitment to people and communities whilst enhancing our expertise in the civil construction and mining industry as well as our commitment to quality and reliability.
Symbolising Heritage and Industry: The Visual Essence of Wilgee Civil's Identity
Integrating Aboriginal art and symbols, our logo stands as a powerful visual representation of our core values as well as a homage to our rich cultural heritage.
Depicting women using digging sticks, our icon acts as a poignant reflection of our Indigenous female-led leadership and our deep connection to the mining industry. A connection emphasised by the rounded shape that surrounds the icon which subtly alludes to the characteristics of an open-cut mine.
Wilgee Civil identity also integrates artworks created locally and sustainably by the Noongar people behind Koorta Creations. Their art features the dots and curves that are characteristic of Aboriginal culture. Each point, each line reflects landscapes, journeys, and significant events, seamlessly connecting the people to their land and ancestors.
With “Wilgee” literally translating to “Red Ochre” in Noongar language, the choice of red and orange hues to depict Wilgee Civil identity was obvious. Moreover, these colours evoke the different tones often observed in the Australian landscape as well as in mining pits. This colour scheme reflects our connection to our surroundings and industry but also serves as a symbol of vitality and progress.
The combination of aboriginal symbols with these meaningful colours truly embraces the harmonious blend of cultural heritage and professional expertise that lies at the heart of Wilgee Civil but also its ultimate ambition. Our identity echoes our commitment to play a pivotal role in leading change towards a more inclusive and connected land civil construction and mining industry.
Forging a Path: our Commitment to Innovation, Tradition, and Community Empowerment
